We have a policy in place to encourage a good relationship with our families and we look to strengthen and build upon that relationship during your child’s time with us. 

We want to make Little Gems Pre-School a safe, caring, stimulating and enjoyable experience for you and your child/children, so please do tell us what you enjoy and if you would like help in any way. We would also like to hear your views/opinions about the pre-school and what we can do to make it better. To this end, we regularly ask for questionnaires to be completed. However, you can talk to any member of staff at any time.

We are not committee run, and therefore there is no expectation of parents to get involved in the day to day running of the pre-school. However there are other ways to become involved if you so wish. We want you and your family to feel part of Little Gems and the children and staff love to see parents/carers/other family members becoming involved. Some helpers prefer to be ‘hands on’ with the children, whether it be a story, coming to play for a session or just to read a story, or help with a specific activity e.g gardening. It could be to support our nativity, fairs or open days. There are plenty of ‘background’ jobs that would be just as appreciated, such as helping with displays or cleaning resources or equipment.

For some children it may be better to not stay in the session as it could unsettle them. We can discuss this with you if you or we feel this is the case.
